Our Developmental & Competitive Team Programs: We specialize in Developmental Pre-team and Competitive Team training. Young athletes are hand picked by the owners and team coaches to participate in our developmental team training programs. We choose young athletes who want to work hard, enjoy what they are learning and have a deep desire to improve themselves as an athlete. These athletes are picked from our Preschool and School Age programs. If you and your daughter are interested in this option, please call to set up an appointment to be tested and placed in the program that is best suited for your child's skill ability. Below is a brief description of each phase in our pre-competitive and competitive program. Each level is based on USA Gymnastics standard skills and levels. Athletes are required to pass the necessary skills in each level before they can move into the next level. Call for cost and more information. (816) 229-8834
Too many times parents have been lead to believe that their children MUST workout excessive number of hours to be successful. That simply is NOT the truth. Parents have also been lead to believe that if their child is enjoying themselves too much, that they are not learning or progressing. The other problem is that some coaches are in a hurry to rush the athletes up the ladder and get them to a high level in a hurry. WHY? If you get to level 10 or are an Elite by the age of 12, then you are stuck there until College. That is, if your body holds up that long or if they aren't pushed so hard so fast that they decide to quite all together. You can have high expectations without your body being overworked. You can enjoy the sport throughout your entire gymnastics career and want to stay in it even into your college years. We all have to remember who this is really for. Is it for the parents? Is it for the coach who is trying to make a name for themselves? Or is it for the child who loves to flip, loves to compete and wants to be the best that THEY CAN BE! Our athletes succeed because they love what they are doing. We invite parents of competitive athletes to check out individual scores of our athletes and compare. We generally practice fewer hours that many programs, our kids are laughing and enjoying their practice time and they are winning. The proof is in the scores!

Level 4 Competitive Team - At this level athletes are not only competing as level 4s in the Kansas City League meets, they are also preparing to see if they have what it takes to be invited onto our USA Gymnastics competitive team in the future. This is the first real test to see if the athlete is ready for real competitions and how they stand up against individual scoring from other gyms. Competition becomes a bit more serious, although we still try to keep everything in perspective. As long as athletes continue to improve and better themselves we feel that they are succeeding and winning. Some of the very best high level gymnasts were not great lower level gymnasts, but they keep trying to improve themselves. At this level we will continue to keep our athletes near home. Level 4 team members like our level 3 Developmental team will compete in our in house competitions as well as local league meets and the league championships. They receive individual scores and learn about striving to be their best. This truely is a fun level for athletes. At level 4 & 5 athletes will probably learn more skills in a shorter time than ever before. They truly become motivated at this level. They can now use the many hours of basics that they have learned to put together routines that begin look like a real competitive athlete. (The grace hasn't usually entered the picture yet) That comes later. Athletes at this level are required to purchase a team leotard, warm-up and team bag. As a Level 4 Competitive athete they will attend class 2 times per week for 3 1/2 hours each. Monthly Cost: $190 per child ($185 if paid by the early bird payment date)
Level 5 & Up Competitive Team - This program is for athletes who have passed the necessary skills needed to participate in the level that our coaching staff feels they are ready for. Skills must now be performed with good form and confidence. As a competitive team member athletes begin to mature as athletes and their focus and dedication reflects in their performance. Level 7 and up get to experiment and enjoy the many opportunities of showing off their individuality in Optional routines. These athletes understand the dedication needed to be successful. Our competitive team members are expected to do their very best, and yet we also encourage them to have fun. If you take all of the fun out, then who wants to do it anymore. Children start in this sport because it is fun. It is just that the fun takes on a new form. The fun is in learning new skills and being challenged to overcome new obstacles. The fun is knowing that they are doing their best. They are taught that if they leave a competition and know that they did their personal best, they are a winner. Even if they didn't win a trophy, medal or ribbon. If they did their best and are continuing to improve and make changes, that is the best any of us can ask for. It is then that they know how very proud we are of them. They know that all of their hard work was worth it. They know that there will be plenty of hugs waiting for them.
Our competitive team practices are Mon - Thurs. nights from 5:00 - 8:30. Team members may decide how many nights that they want to attend and which nights. The cost is the same for all competitive team members regardless of the number of nights that they choose to practice. They can decide to come all four nights or just 2 or 3. It is entirely up to them. This makes being a competitive gymnast more family friendly. If it is grandma's birthday, they can attend with the rest of the family. If they want to participate in honor society they can. We just make sure that the time we do spend in the gym is not waisted time. Pre-teens and teenage athletes like the fact that they can attend school dances and ball games on Friday nights with their school friends. Obviously, the more that the girls are in the gym, the more steady their progress. Those who come in less often will slow their progress, but hopefully the girls will want to stay in the sport longer and the stress to families will be less. There are NEVER any team assessment fees. For more information call and ask to speak with Sheri. (Head team coach).
